Job Posting - Director of Social Support

The Director of Social Support works with the community to expand the number of people in Northwest Arkansas with diverse social networks (or personal relationships across racial and socioeconomic lines). This position reports to the VP/Executive Director of Hark and works with the Excellerate Foundation staff and all partnering organizations for the purpose of multiplying diverse social networks in NWA.

DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL SUPPORT

The Director of Social Support works with the community to expand the number of people in Northwest Arkansas with diverse social networks (or personal relationships across racial and socioeconomic lines).  This position reports to the VP/Executive Director of Hark and works with the Excellerate Foundation staff and all partnering organizations for the purpose of multiplying diverse social networks in NWA.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works directly with the Potter’s House/Excellerate co-working team to implement the DSN strategy in NWA.
  • Works closely with partnering organizations to develop and build a community-wide playbook for establishing best practices around diverse social networks in NWA.
  • Builds buy-in for developing diverse social networks among organizations.
  • Establishes the expansion of diverse social networks by partner organizations.
  • Aids in the creation of tools used to enhance community knowledge and implementation of diverse social networks in NWA.
  • Trains partner organizations in the tools needed to evaluate the quality and impact of diverse social networks.
  • Assists organizations in the implementation of the community-wide playbook regarding diverse social networks.
  • Distills learning from partner organizations into developing models for diverse social networks.
  • Identifies social support organizations to be added to the Hark resource map.
  • Manages data collection for all social support initiatives.
  • Implements the community-wide strategy for the expansion of diverse social networks in NWA.
  • Identifies areas of Social Support needs in NWA related to Excellerate social support strategy.
  • Works closely with Excellerate leadership team to develop and execute social support initiatives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Community Related Field or Equivalent is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and interact with all economic, cultural, and racially diverse populations.
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to distill concepts into clear and succinct documentation.
  • Proven experience in leadership, adept in giving and receiving feedback.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development and implementation, with the capability to work both independently and as a member of the team.
  • A deep knowledge and awareness of health and human services in NWA, as well as the economic, cultural and racial diversity in the community.
  • An understanding of community resources, with the ability to develop in-depth community relationships and partnerships.
  • A systems and strategic thinker with experience in researching trends and best practices.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable, with the capacity to excel and operate in a fast pace environment.
