While Catalyst Fund NWA is focused on preventing households that are generally stable from spiraling into crisis, there are also less stable households that are in need of more than just financial aid.
Excellerate Foundation is collaborating with Peace at Home Family Shelter, 7hills Homeless Center, and the Community Resources division of the City of Fayetteville to create this complementary pilot program to Catalyst Fund NWA.
Based on a successful “rapid rehousing” pilot program for domestic abuse survivors—created by Peace at Home Family Shelter and funded by Excellerate—the Housing Success Fund pilot program offers up to nine months of ongoing rental assistance and case management to members of the general public, as implemented by affiliated human services organizations. Case management is provided to ensure that the client household is becoming financially sustainable over time, which is vital since the amount of rental assistance declines each month.
The aim is to allow less stable households, including those that have already fallen into crisis, additional time to gain their feet and give them the best possible chance of regaining a solid foundation for their housing situation.
Launched in November 2019, the Housing Success Fund pilot program is currently on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has made it much harder to provide the core case management services. Excellerate looks forward to resuming and expanding the pilot once the crisis has passed.
